My locks are 14 months old and since I am freshly retightened today, what a perfect time for an apples to apples progress report. I'm so thankful to everyone who blogs and shares their journeys because it no doubt gives me something to look forward to. But also makes a sista filled with an abundance of lock envy. This comparison keeps me grounded and helps me to see where I came from. So given the length I started with, the many many photos I've stalked, I am right on track. Despite having a new appreciation for the word patience, I certainly do love my Sisterlocks!

I think your locs look great! They are really making good progress. Don't feel bad your not the only one with loc envy! (LOL)
Yea!! You look great!!
I wish there had been as many blogs when I started. When I was 18 months in or so, I was ready to quit. That's when I started my blog and got the support to keep going. Now there's no stopping me!
Your hair is growing so fast. It looks great.
Thanks Sistalocd.
Thanks Tra (I corrected myself).
Dare I say I am still adjusting to the fact that our locks are near the same length. The exception may be that my hair is super super layered and not on purpose. I am now learning that my hair has several growth rates all over my
head. But I do hope your new freestyle look will grow on you within the next several months. We won't rush you. You are entitled to one adjustment at a time.
Brunsli - the original blog diva. Thank you very much. During my research in July/August of 05,
I vividly remember a few SL sites I was able to drool over and your blog. Of course I am so happy you started your blog and motivated all of the rest of us bloggers. Too bad it wasn't for better circumstances. But everything happens for a reason.
Thanks Naturalist1.
WOW...that's amazing. Who knew hair could grow that much in 14 months? (My hair had been around the same length for like 6 years before Sisterlocks...ugh)
Your locks look great!
Ooohhh!!! We got retightened on the same day! Coincidence?!? I think not...
lol.
Very nice!!!
Looking good Ms. Diva!
Tanya,
WOW, that is tremendous growth for only 14 months.!!! That is so amazing, considering how long it takes for relaxed hair to grow. To me, it just seems like it takes a lifetime to grow relaxed hair. Then it subequently sheds. (What luck is that!)
I like how you're coming along! Looking good.
Wow, you are coming along just fine. Keep up the good work.
Thanks everyone. But my research shows my hair growth is the same as everyone else's. Since I also have the most fragile hair type, the combination of no combing, no brushing, no cutting, no chemical overprocessing, moderate exercising, moderate conditioning, good hair genes and relatively good eating habits allow me to keep the hair on my head as it grows instead of constantly sweeping it up off the floor and into the trash.
I know this is the recipe we all are following because everyone has gorgeous locks to show for it!!!!
You're looking FABULOUS!!! Hang in there, you will be pleased!
WOW! This comparison does keep it all in perspective! Wonderful growth!
Thanks Jaidalon and Detra!
Looking Good
Now that is thw WOW factor!
Thanks Karen and LaChanda.
Wow!! Right now your lock length is right about where I would like mine to be. I've been SLocked now for 3 days, and I look like a cross between Pinhead for HellRaiser and Woodstock from Peanuts!! (LOL)
I realize though that it's a process, so I'm just to to be patient...my time will soon come. :-)
Hey Cassie! Congratulations with your new Sisterlocks. Your time will indeed come.
Yes, my dear, you have made amazing progress. You should be very happy and proud of yourself. Your locks look lovely!
Awww, why thank you so much Leighann. You told me awhile ago I would have length in due time. It's only fair I pass on the same encouragement.
As you can tell, I'm catching up on reading blogs..sick in bed with a bad cold...The comparison shots are great and you should be proud at your growth. We'll look back on this time 1, 2, 3 years from now as our locks are swinging or as we affectionately complain about how hot it is and how we have to keep them up off our neck and be even more amazed at the beauty of our natural tresses. Locking is indeed a beautiful journey and you're well on your way Tanya.
Sorry to hear you are not feeling well Blaq. Do take care of yourself and get better. Thanks for taking the time to visit and leaving such kind words of encouragement.
Tanya,
Your sls are coming along nicely! Gorgeous!
