- Hello everyone. This blog is about my Sisterlocks journey. I’m such an avid reader of the many blogs posted by so many gorgeous women, I’ve been inspired by them to start my own. So far the ride has been good, bad and ugly. But I would do it all over again in a heartbeat. This is definitely the greatest hair decision I have ever made!! **Sisterlocked August 13, 2005**

Ha Ha that's a good one. I won't say that the Sisterlocks made a major impact on my sex life( it was already the bomb! lol) but I will say it has made things alot easier. For example I don't have to worry about my hair getting messed up or sweated out. I also don't have a problem with my man running his fingers through my hair now that I have Sisterlocks.

There is definitely one name that comes to mind a couple runner-ups.
Of course I won't dare say.
I was minding my own business with the side of my face being pushed into the pillow. Next thing I know, I felt my head being pulled back by my hair. At first I didn't tell him to do that while I Consuella. He was improvising which is even better. But my real self panicked a little in concern that one of my SLs might snap off. How am I going to explain how it snapped? Then he even got a better grip by turning/twisting/winding a fistful aroung his hand and then pulled. At that point I didn't care if one snapped, it would have been for a very good reason. So, I went back to being Consuella.
Sisterlocks are strong!
That's funny "Consuella"! I find that "Monique" LOVES that! I was in fear of my hair being pulled out at first as well, but I haven't lost any so far. What I also find interesting is that my hair seems to be an aphrodiziac (excuse the spelling). I've gotten more play with the nappy head from my lover than when I was rocking a perm! He just loves to touch my hair and play in it. I've heard it makes me look exotic. Whatever works huh???
i don't have sisterlocks, but traditional locs...i definitely know that as my hair grew and got some length, my inner sex goddess came to the forefront. the length of my hair brought out my "whip appeal" so to speak...and we loves it!
Anon Consuella - OMG. I'm just now getting some length. So this is good information to know. I would be fearful of losing a lock as well.

So my gut was right! There is that unspoken benefit of locks that we don't get the pleasure (no pun intended) of talking about.
Right now I'm enjoying being worry free of sweating out my hair.
I no longer have to demand that I be on top so that my curls aren't
ruined.
Based on the above commenters, a bit more might be forthcoming :)
Because my locks are new, I miss my lovers pulling my hair...something I love. I am afraid they might come out. Before my hair was natural, so he could grab a handful (preferably from behind) and grab away. ;P
I just had time to read today. I will be back with my post about how my kinky hair led to kinkier, well, you know. I'd been wanting to post about this, but not wanting to put it on my own blog with my name on it. Thanks for giving us a place. It was a marvelous idea whose time had come.

oooh, girl, imma have to come back on this one, got 2 excited reading it!...but i can say this! locks allow for spontaneity without coming outta the sheets looking like buckweat on crack bc your natural turned into a smooshed up fro that takes a whole day of washing and detangling to correct. just drop it like it's hot and get yours!
What changed was me. I wasn't self-conscious anymore. By the time I changed my hair, I was comfortable in my own skin. I was in the moment, not worrying about tracks, edges, and other foolishness.
As others have mentioned, it's been a lot easier to just let go and let be. Plus my man LOVES my hair now, even more than before, so it adds to the whole experience. ;) Cheers to even better sex, thanks to low-maintenance hair!
Well its about time someone brought it up. lol. someone else said it earlier but I really like not looking like a crackhead when I am done. lol
Well, considering that my sex life has been on hiatus, when I did recently engage in some "Good Sex", he was fascinated with my hair, I have to train him because he said your "twist" are growing so long, he run his fingers through my hair was was suprised how long it was...I like the fact that you can "go" all night if you want and your hair will hold up...No more sweating it out...

What an interesting topic! Since getting Sisterlocks I have changed so much as a person, in all areas of my life with sex being one of them. I feel more free and uninhibited PERIOD!!!!! After reading these comments, I may have to try some even newer things...LOL.....but I would say the best part is not having to worry about my hair sweating out or getting messed up, I just let my locks go wild and after I still LOOK GOOD.......

Well, I think I'm probably giving myself away with this post, but here it goes. What would be a jump start for me will probably sound unusual to some of you ladies. My head has always been an erogenous zone. A simple touch, kiss, or even a lick to my dome would send me whirling. I didn’t have all the other issues that you otha sistahs talked about, “smooshed” dos, & the “crackhead” look. However, since being Sisterlocked, it has been interesting to feel his hands go through my young locs. My babies aren’t long enough to wrap around his hand but when he runs his hand through the locs starting from the nape of my neck or just brushing them out of my face………….whew!!! It gives a whole new feeling. You know the one, after you get a fresh retightening and the wind blows JUST right and you get that quick tingle/chill :o)

It is very refreshing knowing how to do your own retightenings. That part is very exciting as I'm sure you will see.
Most folks find that the first retightening is very challenging. My first DIY retight took me well over 30 hrs. Right now I'm on my 2nd retight and it's in the neighborhood of 17-18 hrs. I can't say I don't like doing my own hair, I just want to get a lot faster. If I can get down to 10-12 hours, that would be great for me.
That seems to be average from what I've read. Under 10 hrs is definitely outstanding. 4 or less, you must be a machine.
