Cheers to the New Year

2007! I cannot remember a year where I have been so excited about starting fresh and new. This is my year to take back some of the riches that life has to offer: love, money, spiritual growth, etc. Rewind back to 2005 - I walked off my job, ended my relationship and started my Sisterlock journey.

That set the stage for 2006 being the year to regroup and get grounded again. In February I got a new job, in June I got to fellowship with a wonderful group of Sisterlocked ladies and by September I lost 14 lbs which I have kept off to date.

I am sending a special THANK YOU to Lashaune who gave me that final bit of encouragement to do Weight Watchers as soon as I got back from New York. I have always believed that God sends everybody in and out of your life for a reason. By the end of the '06, I got some loc length, a new love interest, and
re-established my trading account.

What a way to roll into 2007. My list of goals keep growing and growing - but that's a good thing. When you all set your goals for the year, make sure they are specific, measurable, and in writing.

One of my favorite quotes. "Keep doing what you've always done and you'll keep getting what you've always got."

Make that change happen!

Hi Goodnapps,
Your hair is gourgeous and I'm enjoying perusing your blog. Your hair has made such progress in such a short time! I'm actually schedule to have an installation with Paulette as well and I'm happy to see yours turn out so well. Thanks for sharing your progress! Do you remember what size sisterlock you got at your instillation? Thanks much! Rockstar

Locizm - Thanks so much and much success to you as well.

Linda - It's so wonderful to hear from you. Thanks so much for the well wishes. I'll definitely keep you posted on any updates.

Rockstar - congratulations on your decision to go Sisterlocks. I wish you the best with your journey. I pretty much have the standard small size locks. My locks appear to be a bit bigger because of my hair texture. But I can't imagine them being any smaller or bigger than what they are. Thanks for stopping by and your kind compliments.

Hey T,

There I go again, responding to blog posts in my head instead of actually commenting on them. My bad!!

This is one inspirational and reflective post. I am so happy to have met you on line last year and whether you remember or not, it was you who suggested a way for us to keep up with everyone's blogs in lockitup prior to everyone getting hip to blogroll! Thus prompting me to start the Locked Hair Blog Exchange. Thank you for how you indeed, along with Brusli, I believe helped start something beautiful that has helped and inspired women all over the world this past year! Many blessings to you and I hope we will meet in person one day!

Why thanks so much Maryee.. I'm definitely happy to have you as a blog buddy as well. Maybe in person we shall meet one of these days.. Thanks for the compliment but I'm not sure I can take the credit. But the Blog Exchange was certainly a wonderful idea and
we are all thankful you took the initiative to make it a reality.

You really sound like you have your goals and priorities in order for the new year. Great Post. I have been missing in action. I'm taking two classes, new relationship and parenting has had me busy. I haven't found the time to blog like I use to. I really need to update my blog. I am getting colored on Thursday, so I will take and post pictures soon. I am really trying to get caught up on my blog reading. But I had to check in on ya. Love the quote. Take Care.

Goodnapps said...

Cheleski - absolutely nothing, unless you want to count fluff-cover-fluff. So nice to not fret over my hair because of the weather.
