Back Down Memory Lane

Over the weekend I attended a fantastic natural get together here in town hosted by Linda. I can't say enough of how awesome it was and I even got to meet fellow local blogger Mali as well. It made me realize that I've met a lot of good wholesome folks doing this LockItUp and Blogging thing. Gals who live in California, New York, Philly, Detroit, Miami, Dallas, Cleveland, Columbus, Cincinnati, etc., etc. The fun is no where near over. I know I still have plenty more folks out there to meet. But I couldn't resist the opportunity to go back down memory lane.

Thanks for inviting me to that gathering. I really enjoyed listening and speaking with the ladies about my experiance going natural. I would agree with you about being tired of the "chemical crack." It is a personal thing and has to be your decision to do it that is the only way that you will embrace it and enjoy your hair. I have been trying to get some of the sistas that I know to convert to the natural.

Charity - Girl I'm so glad you came out. I had no doubt you would be able to hold your own in a crowd. I think we are making tremendous progress with folks getting back to the natural root of thangs.

Still Waters - You are so right! It would be an awesome pleasure
to meet you.

As for the Khoret Amen Leave-in, I put it in a misting sprayer and
dilute it about 50% water, 50% solution or 60 solution, 40 water.
Something to that effect. Initially I was taken aback by
it's unique scent, but not anymore. I see an instant shine in
my locks and no greasy feeling whatsoever. And personally,
I think it even helps to make my ends feel a bit more tightened.
Let me know how it works out for you. Everyone's experience tends
to be a bit different.

Tanya, I also want to thank you for extending an invitation to me. I was nervous because I was going by myself and there was no one that I had ever met there and who's face was did I see first as soon as I pulled up? Yours! It was a wonderful experience being amongst such intelligent, confident and beautiful women of all ages and with such warm spirits. I look forward to the next!

P.S. Seeing my face on your blog makes me feel like an instant celebrity! ;-)

Mali - Girl, I was too thrilled to see your response of yes that you would attend. And that was too funny how we came in together and left together The Lord is always right on time all the time. I'm looking forward to the next one myself.

Chele - thanks girl. Missed ya. Hope to see you at the next one.

Creyole - Thanks so much dear. And speaking of my mother. Her locks
are doing great. So much so she took the liberty of cutting off all her remaining permed ends. So she's now in this phase of letting her hair adjust to being completely perm free and continuing to lock. I'll do an
update sometime in the near future.
